Request a Coach for Yourself

If you yourself are looking to get a coach, please follow the below steps. We - Organization Development and Performance - are here to help you along the way. Please reach out to sdaodp@sacsewer.com if you have any questions.

#StepWhy do this?
1

Prior to speaking with your supervisor, prepare an initial Coaching Planning Form (click to access). Make sure to answer:

  1. What is the motivation for you to pursue coaching?
  2. What is your desired goal/outcome from coaching?

Develop a good case for you to engage in coaching.

2

Discuss your initial Coaching Planning Form with your supervisor to figure out if coaching is something that would make sense for you to pursue.

Supervisor pursues buy-in from the appropriate level of department management

This starts a collaborative process with your management team in determining if coaching is a viable development activity. Your supervisor might have some additional ideas on coaching areas, also.
3

Email Coaching Planning Form and indicate management buy-in to sdaodp@sacsewer.com

ODP reviews the plan to ensure clarity of the coaching focus prior to engaging a coach.
4

Contact sdaodp@sacsewer.com to schedule an Introduction to Coaching session. In this session you will:

  1. Learn more about coaching.
  2. Discuss the steps for identifying a coach.
  3. Review the initial Coaching Planning Form to identify background and characteristics to look for in a coach.
  4. Review the SDA list of available coaches and to identify possible matches.
  5. Interview a coach
    1. Organization Development will coordinate with identified coach set up an initial interview
  6. Contact sdaodp@sacsewer.com once you have selected a coach

Learn what coaching is, how it works, and the responsibilities involved.

5Coaching engagement is finalized for an initial 6 month period1 coaching session per month = 6 total coaching sessions.
