Product Owners

For each business application IT supports, one person from the business-side is identified as the product owner. The product owner is the one application user who is in charge of the non-technical aspects of the application. A product owner typically has the following responsibilities:

• Approves any features, enhancements, or bug fixes requested by other application users
• Develops processes around how to use the application and communicates those processes to other application users
• Sets the future direction for the application
• Determines "must-haves" vs "nice-to-haves"
• Approves or manages application user access and ensures license compliance
