.PST Email Relocation


This document outlines the steps in moving email folders from a .pst file (email storage) to your Exchange mailbox in Outlook. Storing email in Exchange has significant benefits…

Note: There is a 40 GB capacity limit on each user's mailbox.

Open Outlook

In the Outlook Folder Pane on the left side, locate your Exchange mailbox (your name), as shown…






Right-click your Exchange mailbox. In the pop-up menu, select New Folder












In the text box, type Email Storage as shown, and hit Enter



Result: You have created a new email storage location. You can create subfolders in the Email Storage folder as needed.

In the Outlook Folder Pane on the left side, locate the email folder you want to move (ex: Sample emails).

Right-click the folder. In the pop-up menu, select Move Folder, as shown…















In the Move Folder dialog box, locate the Email Storage folder and single-click the folder to highlight.

Click OK









Your email folder has now been moved to the Email Storage folder, as shown…

Repeat these steps with other email folders as needed.

Reminder: You may also drag and drop folders to the new location for the same results.
