How to open a page in a different web browser

The districts use a wide variety of web-based applications.  Some applications require using Internet Explorer, some do not work in Internet Explorer, while others are browser-agnostic.  If you receive a message that you are required to use a different browser, use these instructions to open the application in another browser.

To open a different browser

  • Select Google Chrome from your desktop. If you do not see this on your desktop, follow the steps in the section below to add Chrome to your desktop.

  • A browser window will open to the Internet.

  • Update the URL to the site you need to navigate to.
Tip: You can copy and paste the URL from the other browser to Chrome.

Add a program to your desktop

  • Select the magnifying glass on the bottom left of your screen.

  • Enter Chrome in the search box.

  • Google Chrome will show up as a match.
    Right click the Chrome icon.
    Select Open file location.

  • From the file location, right click Google Chrome.
